DESCRIPTION:In the run-up to the UK’s largest rum-tasting exhibition\, RumFest\, The Whisky Exchange will be hosting a soirée to look into the world of aged rums. \nThey’re delighted to welcome Stefanie Holt\, International Brand Ambassador for El Dorado Rum\, to present a range of sipping rums from around the Caribbean. \nAlthough Stefanie works for Demerara Distillers\, makers of El Dorado Rum\, she is very much a champion of rum as a whole. Basically\, if you’re drinking her rum then that’s great\, but so long as you’re drinking any quality rum\, it’s all good! \nEducation is the name of the game and to this end\, Stefanie will present a range of seven aged rums. Each has its own unique style and is representative of the island or country that it is from. \n \nThe line-up for this exotic Caribbean cruise is as follows: \n\nMatusalem 15yo Gran Reserva\nDiplomatico Single Vintage 2000\nBarbancourt 15yo\nRhum JM 2002\nAppleton Estate 12yo\nEl Dorado 15yo\nEl Dorado 21yo\n\nThe tasting will take place on Monday 29 September\, 7.30pm. DESCRIPTION:With The UK RumFest 2013 now behind us\, the Whisky Exchange Vinopolis has something a little different in the line-up for the end of October. Stefanie Holt\, Global Brand Ambassador for El Dorado rum\, International Brand Ambassador of the Year 2012 and all-round globetrotting wonder woman\, will be there to take you through her range of luscious Guyanese rums. A great chance to warm your cockles as we head into the shivery embrace of English Winter! \nFor this tasting\, they’ll be kicking things off as you arrive with a refreshing Caribbean rum punch made with El Dorado 5yo. After that they’ll move on to taste the core range of 8yo\, 12yo\, 15yo and 21yo rums\, before trying no less than 3 different El Dorado Single Barrel rums. These are incredibly rare and they only receive a few bottles each year here in the UK\, so the obvious reaction is to open them for a tasting! They’re interesting because each of the Single Barrels come from a different still. \nThe whole El Dorado range is made from different combinations of stills\, including the world’s only wooden column and double wooden pot stills. You’ll be trying 3 that are part of the DNA for the 12yo – Enmore EHP\, Port Mourant PM and Uitvlugt ICBU.
