The winner gets bragging rights for the next year\u2026 the loser has to do penance at next year\u2019s Tales of the Cocktail.<\/p>\n<p>We took seven of New Orleans\u2019 best bartenders and had them each make an original kick-ass cocktail. Then we gave the bartenders from NOLA the exact same ingredients, but without any information about how the drink was proportioned or made.<\/p>\n<p>Each night, NOLA will make both cocktails and it\u2019s up to you to decide the winner. \u00a38 gets you both cocktails and a vote for your favorite.<\/p>\n<p>Tonight, Tiki Legend Jeff \u201cBeachbum\u201d Berry sends over a Bittermens cocktail recipe featuring El Dorado Rum.<\/p>\n<p>One of Imbibe magazine\u2019s \u201c25 Most Influential Cocktail Personalities of the Past Century\u201d and one of The Daily Meal\u2019s \u201c60 Coolest People in Food &amp; Drink,\u201d Jeff \u201cBeachbum\u201d Berry is the author of six books on vintage Tiki drinks and cuisine, which Los Angeles magazine dubbed \u201cthe keys to the tropical kingdom.\u201d Esquire calls him \u201cone of the instigators of the cocktail revolution\u201d and Food &amp; Wine \u201cone of the world\u2019s leading rum experts,\u201d while Las Vegas magazine cites him as \u201cone of the world\u2019s leading mixologists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jeff\u2019s original cocktail recipes have been printed in publications around the world, from Bon Appetit and Fine Cooking magazines to such books as World\u2019s Best Cocktails and the Mr. Boston Official Bartenders Guide; his drinks have been served at PDT and PKNY in Manhattan, Le Tiki Lounge in Paris, Smuggler\u2019s Cove in San Francisco, Kona Lei and Costello Club in Madrid, The Tiki Room in Stockholm, Paparazzi in Bratislava, Three Dots And A Dash in Chicago, Boutiq\u2019 Bar in Budapest, Nu Bar in Bologna and Hula Bula in Perth, Australia, among others.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An intercontinental contest for bragging rights, New Orleans\u2019 best bartenders are taking on the team from London\u2019s very own NOLA.
