Plantation

Origin : The brainchild of Alexandre Gabriel's Cognac Ferrand, Plantation rum combines a number of the finest Caribbean rums with a double aging process in the cellars of Cognac Ferrand's Château de Bonbonnet in France.

In addition to the traditional aging of rum in used American Bourbon oak casks, a number of distilleries also age their rums in other used barrels such as sherry or cognac. It was though the relationships built by Cognac Ferrand, in shipping their cognac barrels to these distilleries that Alexandre Gabriel was able to discover some of the rich, aromatic and flavoursome small batch rums, originally intended either for the personal enjoyment of the distillery's Master Distiller or for blending in more generic consumer rums. Cognac Ferrand decided to bottle these special rums as a series of rare vintages.

Most of the vintage rums are a blend of rums from one or more distilleries in their country of origin and after being aged in Bourbon barrels at that distillery's cellars for a minimum of 8 years, they are shipped to Ch
