Caipirinha (Fruit)

Base Spirit : Cachaca
Ingredients
  • 2 Measures of Cachaça
  • 1 Lime
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Brown or White Sugar
  • Crushed Ice
Equipment
  • Muddler
  • Ice Crusher
  • Bar Spoon
  • Thick Short Soda Glass
  • Short Drinking Straw
Cut the Lime into quarters and add to the Soda Glass along with approximately 2 heaped Bar Spoons worth of Sugar and a small handful of washed Fresh Fruit. Use the Muddler to crush and mix the sugar with the fruit and lime pieces.
Add the Crushed Ice, ensuring it is heaped over the top of the glass. Now add the Cachaça to the glass. Lastly use the bar spoon to stir the ingredients together.
If the ice appears below the top of the glass, add some more crushed ice before serving. Add the Drinking Straw and serve.
This variation on the Brazilian classic makes for a refreshingly fruity summer drink. Many fruits can be selected from including, but not limited to: Strawberries; Blueberries; Orange; Pineapple and Pomegranate.
